Schedule Tasks

Automate repeatable workflows with scheduled AI tasks that run on your timetable.

Page Updated: 12 Jan 2026

Scheduled Tasks allow you to automate your AI workflows. You can set up Crafty AI to perform specific actions—like summarising news, checking stock prices, or generating reports—at regular intervals without manual intervention.

Creating a Task

  1. Navigate to the Tasks page from the sidebar.
  2. Click Create task.
  3. Title: Give your task a descriptive name (e.g., "Daily Tech News Summary").
  4. Instructions: Tell Crafty exactly what to do when the task runs.
  5. Schedule: Choose the frequency (Daily, Weekly, etc.) and the specific time for the task to execute.
  6. Options: Toggle Web Search or Memories, and optionally attach a Knowledge Folder for extra context.
  7. Click Save Task.

Task Templates

If you're not sure where to start, check the Task Templates section at the bottom of the Tasks page. These provide pre-configured setups for common automation needs that you can customise.

Managing Your Tasks

  • Run Now: Manually trigger a task to run immediately to test your instructions.
  • Pause/Resume: Temporarily disable a task without deleting it.
  • Edit: Update instructions or schedules as your needs change.
  • Delete: Permanently remove a task and its run history.

Viewing Results

Each time a task runs, the result is saved. Click on a task in your list to view the Latest Run. You can navigate through previous runs using the navigation arrows. If a run generates a useful response, you can click Chat to open that result in a new conversation and continue the discussion.

Notifications

Click the Bell icon on the Tasks page to enable browser notifications. Crafty will alert you when a scheduled task has completed its run.

Tip: Use "Run Now" after creating a task to ensure the AI understands your instructions perfectly before it runs on its own.
